Social Media gaming

Social Media gaming is nothing new and loads of operators offer or advertise on every platform, but with Camelot’s interest now focusing on Social Media, the question that we should be asking is “are we ready for National Lottery on Facebook”?
It’s the start of something different for Facebook and something that surprises us has taken so long, but the roll out of the National Lottery games on social media has always been a little off. At the moment we are not taking full on Lottery games, but some of their side games such as the popular 25p Hook a Duck game.

The pots are small enough with a possible £500, but this will see the first instalment of a National gaming source on Facebook.

Twitter is being used too, with players and or Facebook users being asked to send their tweets and colour choice of duck they want to be picked to #HookMeADuck. We've played the Hook-a-Duck game on the National Lottery sit and it's basic but good. Only managed to win my money back so far, but at 25p a game that doesn't really matter.

Camelot’s head of instant games has been quoted as saying that "Instant win games and Scratchcards are designed to bring excitement, instant gratification and real-time nature of play to the game". Which we agree would with, but will it be the start of something much bigger and open the flood gates to all gaming operators that are sitting in the wings waiting?? Short answers can only be YES!.

Is the whole Social Media gaming platform going to be a success for Camelot and are their instant games going to work? Yes, it’s the National Lottery.
