How to win a Jackpot

A few years ago we tested the theory of “How to win a jackpot” at Tombola Bingo. What we revealed wasn’t so how a how to win, but more of a when you’re most likely to win. That theory still hasn’t changed, but the pot sizes are a little bigger and there are more winners than ever. In short, it’s not the game you play, but when to play. Here’s what we found.
Tombola Bingo is one of the biggest and best online Bingo platforms out there, and if you have ever played a Tombola Bingo game then you’ll appreciate just how good they are. BUT, statistics show that the player name you use and when you play actually makes a difference.

Back in 2013 we looked at Jackpots won from 90 Ball Bingo (here’s the link) and found that during the months of March, May, June, August and September, there was a jackpot winner every 2-3 days. OK these jackpots weren’t massive, so we looked at pots between £18k and £40k and noticed that there were no winners in June, with the least won on Mondays. And what’s more shocking is that there has never been a winner (£18-£40k) that played between 3-5am and players with names starting in E,O,Q,TU,V,Y and Z.

So how has that changed?
Let’s just start by saying that there is no winning formula. The Bingo games at Tombola are run through a random numbers generator and can’t be manipulated or distorted. In short luck is still your best friend. BUT, what if we could narrow that down with a little research science!!

Since 2013

  • Biggest pots won in: Feb, March and May
    • All three won with user name starting with X
  • Most successful month to play is: May
  • Worst month to play: September with 0 winners
  • Best time: Between midnight and 2:30am
  • Worst time: Between 3am and 6am

So taking these figures for 90 Ball Bingo at Tombola, as long as your user name doesn’t begin with D or F and that you don’t play between 3am and 6am, or anytime in September and you’ll be fine.

Just to prove that we haven’t made it up, all this information has been was taken from Tombola’s own webpage. Will this change the way that you play? Probably not, but at least now you know the reasons why you’re not sitting on a Caribbean island.

So far this year Tombola have paid out an estimated £10,000,000 in prize pots and it’s still February. Play Now!

We wrote a review on Tombola so check it out here
