How difficult can it be?

There are loads of GREAT Bingo sites out there that really are an absolute pleasure to play on, and then there are those that really make life difficult and make signing up so hard that you lose interest. This is one of the craziest examples ever. And what makes it worse, it happened to my wife.

It starts with a shocking statement which says it all “Although I have gone through the registration process and deposited money, the account was still blocked” I have become an unlikely casualty in the battle between Gibraltar and Spain;-)

I was looking through the reviews at MyBingoBonus.com and liked what I saw under JackPotCity Bingo.com, so I signed up to them and created an account from a Spanish IP address and registered Spanish address. The mistake was using my Gibraltar Bankcard. That seems to have flashed some warning lights at JackPotCity Bingo, so I was asked to submit a picture identification (which can happen), a recent utility bill from the Spanish residence as well as the reason why the Bankcard was registered elsewhere (as if that matters!), so that is what I did.

I sent all of the requested documents to them and had to explain where Gibraltar was and why it was so close to Spain, without being Spanish, and that it was really quite feasible to bank in Gibraltar but live in Spain, or the other way round. I also added for good measure the “I am looking forward to testing the site in the near future” statement which was not only ignored, but they spotted another (imaginary) problem.

The utility bill only carried my husbands name. Naturally the surname is the same as mine but apparently that was not good enough. Adding to the confusion is that my English mainstream Bank in Gibraltar obviously issues cards that are registered in the UK and are therefore flagged as UK Bankcards. Thus, JackPotCity Bingo replied with a request for our marriage certificate as well as a bank statement clearly stating my name and address.
This is what they wrote:

"Hi there Helen,
Thank you for your response hun.
Ellen, we will be more than willing to accept the utility bill, however, this is the case only when players do not receive bills in their name. We will then need a copy of your marriage certificate to accompany the utility bill please.
We have also requested you to send us a copy of your bank statement with your full name, address and the date clearly visible on it. The statement should not be older than three months. As mentioned in the previous email, your IP address was traced to Spain and your card to the UK. We kindly request that you provide us with an explanation as to why this is the case?
It is imperative that we receive the above mentioned so that we may verify your Bingo Account.
We look forward to your response and assisting you further.
Should you require any further assistance, please feel free to contact us. Kind regards,

I am sorry but no amounts of hugs and kisses from any Bingo Specialist make me hand over any further documentation, least of all Bank statements or a marriage certificate. All they had to do was goggle my name and check various online IDs all belonging to the same face and name, me! the one who registered with them and not some fraudster trying to hunt the next best bonus.

The unfortunate tale to this story is that all of this came up after I deposited my money into their site! So now, frustrated and still not able to play Bingo at JackPotCity Bingo, I have to wait for the next Customer Service agent to reply to my mails and see if they need a blood sample or a copy of my DNA mapping.

I have registered and signed up to several other sites through MyBingoBonus using the same IP address and cards, without so much as a second though and love playing on all of them, so please don't be put off signing up to any other Bingo sites or JackPotCity for that matter, but, just be aware that having a card registered in one country and an IP in another might cause you problems especially at JackPotCity Bingo. I mean who travels or could possibly have different bank accounts in different places in this day and age??

If you have had better luck or the same, then please add your comments. Who knows, it might start something!!
